Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a teacher and her mom was a homemaker. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick began performing and singing in the early years of her life. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted being contacted by talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her whether she wanted to enter the show industry. McCormick got her first job as a major actress in the year 1964. McCormick was in a commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. A year later she was a guest on another company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was quickly chosen to play her role in the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the eldest daughter of the towheaded trio on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The run of five years for the show was a successful one. McCormick wrote in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season of the show with Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. He was just 19. She was just 16. The two of us could have been in a couple, she added. However, the timing was not just right.
